Kidney Bean Series Case Study

On my first day in woodshop, I was handed a chunk of wood and the assignment was to see a piece of furniture and carve out a scaled model of the piece. What I envisioned in that block was the original kidney bean table. Five years later, that model became a reality and the Brown Bean, the Black Bean, the Red Bean and the Kidney Bean were created. Each one based on the same shape but each one a different dimension in length, width and height as well as the materials used and the finishes applied. Each one has its own character and is loosely based on that original model.
