Leo Case Study

I knew the first piece I built would be for myself. The assignment was to build a table from a 20” x 20” piece of Birch plywood and 5 board feet of solid maple. I thought about what would mean the most to me personally and decided to build a side table with my zodiac sign. I searched for different symbols that are common for Leo but did not like what was out there. Ultimately, I combined the animals’ likeness with the symbol and created the design that is seen on the table top. To echo the sun sign I mixed gold flakes into the finish.
